Solidarity Celebration

Kentucky Jobs with Justice
5th Solidarity Celebration
Join Kentucky Jobs With Justice for the biggest event ever!

Yes, this is a fundraiser! And yes, our fundraising goal is $7,500. Check this out: we’ve raised almost $3,500 going into the event and we need your donation to help us kick off the party on Saturday with at least $5,000!!! Why? Your donation will help to fund our economic justice and workers’ rights movement in Kentucky.

Here are the details: Saturday, May 12, KY JWJ’s Solidarity Celebration at the IBEW (4315 Preston Highway, Louisville). The Solidarity Celebration will begin at 5:00pm and we need you there to help make it a huge success.

REMINDER: This year's Celebration will feature keynote speaker Fred Azcarate, former Executive Director of National Jobs With Justice and currently Director of the AFL-CIO’s Voice@Work. And we’ll hear workers from Lykins Reinforcing, MSD, Toyota and other sites share their stories of trying to organization in an environment where there is an all-out assault against both private and public employees.

Confirmed performers include The Indicators, Iroquois High School spoken word artists and honoree Carol Kraemer with more performers to be confirmed by week’s end. Bring your cash for silent auction bidding on such items as Wild ‘n Woolly and Jazz Factory gift certificates, 6 box seats at Churchill Downs from Rainbow Blossom, Actor’s Theatre tickets, and bidding is going to be intense for a hand-crafted laptop shoulder bag (KY JWJ staff tried to get dibs on it, but that ain't right!).

There will be plenty of food donated from such places as Kroger, Stevens & Stevens, Nancy Bagel Grounds, Blue Dog Bakery, and Heine Brothers Coffee. Tickets are available now for online purchase at http://www.kyjwj.org/donate.htm or by phone at (502) 582-5454.

***Suggested minimum donation of $15 in honor of our 15th birthday!***
